Data Analyst with Engineering attitude

Your mission
- Conduct both ad hoc and systematic data analyses.
- Present analytical findings in a clear and visually compelling manner to relevant business stakeholders.
- Identify patterns and trends within data sets, fostering strong relationships with data users and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various teams within the business, including data users and management, to understand and address business needs.
- Work closely with product development teams, business units, and educational scientists.
- Contribute to the implementation of our new unified Learning Analytics platform utilizing a Lakehouse approach, incorporating S3 Storage, Apache Iceberg, Dremio, Spark, and Superset.
- Support and deliver reports from our existing Learning Analytics Platform, leveraging AWS services such as Lambdas and RDS.
- Define, enhance, and implement new processes for data collection, transfer, and analysis.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with team members from diverse expertise areas.
- Take advantage of opportunities to work on interdisciplinary topics that support product development, business growth, and educational research initiatives.
Your profile
- Ability to write and present comprehensive, visual reports clearly and effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Competence in Python, with a basic understanding of package management, test-driven development, and continuous deployment practices.
- Professional experience with Jupyter Notebook and at least one reporting/business intelligence frontend is essential.
- Openness to leveraging IaC tools like Terraform and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Data Lakehouse architectures.
- Proficiency in SQL with basic knowledge of PostgreSQL, S3-based storages (like MinIO), and Apache Iceberg.
- Explicit knowledge of Parquet, AVRO, ORC, Apache Arrow, Hive, Spark, Dremio, and Superset is a plus.
- Programming and scripting skills in shell scripting, TypeScript, and JavaScript are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Docker-Compose, with a strong understanding of *NIX/Linux systems.
- Familiarity with CQRS/event sourcing is an added advantage.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and tools, including Git (GitHub), is essential.
- A data-oriented personality with a strong analytical mindset, capable of handling data from origin to consumption, processing, harmonizing, cleaning, historization, and presentation.
