We are seeking a part-time Junior Web Developer to join our dynamic and growing e-commerce team. As a Junior Web Developer, you will assist in developing, customising, and maintaining our Shopify stores. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for web development, e-commerce, and learning new technologies.
You can easily work remotely with us within Germany - but we would of course also be happy if you started at our Berlin office!
Key Responsibilities:
- You will develop and customise Shopify themes to meet project requirements
- You will implement responsive designs, ensuring cross-browser compatibility
- You will assist with the integration of third-party apps and APIs
- You will collaborate with our designers and project managers to translate design mockups into fully functional Shopify websites
- You will help support the team to optimise website performance and user experience
- You can troubleshoot and resolve bugs or issues in Shopify stores
- You will support the team in testing and quality assurance
- You will stay updated with the latest Shopify features, apps, and industry best practices
Your profile
Experience:
- You have at least 2 years of experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms
- You have experience with version control systems (e.g., Github)
- A previous internship or project experience with Shopify or web development is advantageous
Qualifications:
- You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
- You have or are currently following a degree or formal qualification in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field
Skills
- You have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- You are familiar with Liquid, Shopify's templating language
- You have an understanding of web development principles and responsive design
- You have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- You have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- You have good communication skills and eagerness to learn
