Mobility Analyst (M/W/X)

Your mission

We are looking for a Mobility Analyst who will help our clients maximize the value extracted from collected data for their applications in the fields of mobility research and transport planning. As part of our data analytics team, you’ll explore and support client use cases, investigate and find answers to relevant questions about people's mobility, crunch travel data, and design and optimize the mobility insights we bring to our clients.

• Interact closely with clients and stakeholders in the areas of mobility market research and transport planning, to understand and meet their needs towards their use of the data we deliver
• Formulate and answer research questions to explore the wealth of geocoded mobility data, discover valuable insights, and help our customers turn them into sound findings that answer their needs
• Analyze and improve the significance and statistical reliability of the insights derived from our data, helping to make conclusions more robust against gaps and biases, and proposing ways to enhance and enrich the raw data further
• Further develop our mobility insights products together with the data analytics and data engineering team
• Represent MOTIONTAG as an expert in mobility data analysis within client meetings and conferences

Your profile

• MSc or PhD in transport planning, engineering, or related research field
• 5y+ working experience as an analyst or researcher in the field of transportation
• Strong analytical mindset and a driven interest in understanding people's mobility
• Deep knowledge of mobility surveys and experience in handling survey data and geodata
• Statistical expertise for representative sampling, weighting, and extrapolation
• Experience in working with R or Python
• Experience with smartphone-based mobility surveys is a big plus
• A professional network in mobility research or transport planning in the DACH region
• Experience with writing applications for research grants and reports
• Great communication and presentation skills in spoken and written form
• Professional proficiency in German and English; knowledge of French, Italian, or Spanish is a plus
• Driven, reliable, good level of self-organization and self-learning
• Proven team player who likes to share knowledge
