Your mission

Taking responsibility for the risk exposure of the energy trading business with the intrinsic
motivation to make a difference to a fast-moving team that is always looking for a competitive
edge while positioning itself as a European trading company.

• Development & Implementation of a risk management framework for Elli's trading activities in Electricity Markets (focus short term trading with growing importance of forward hedging).
• Establishing risk metrics and daily report for key trade KPIs (P&L, MtM, trade positions).
• Responsibility for collateral management (margining accounts and bilateral agreements).
• Understanding of evaluation & optimization models for asset backed trading, especially for battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Ability to formulate and communicate a strategic vision for the management of risk exposures in Elli's energy trading business.
• In-depth knowledge of energy markets including regulatory trends, emerging technologies and customer needs.

Your profile

• Masters degree with quantitative background (e.g. maths, physics, economics or engineering).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a risk management role - either in consulting or within at rading firm or a bank.
• Experience with Energy Trading & Risk Management Solutions or alternatively core banking solutions (e.g. Endur, Allegro, Murex etc.).
• Ability to navigate through German & European legislation and regulation (e.g. REMIT, MIFID) translating it into requirements for new and existing trading services.
• Quantitative Modeling (risk evaluation, optimization, forecasting).
• Standard KPIs for Risk Management in trading organizations.
• Sound regulatory compliance oversight.
• Sound understanding of back office processes, e.g. margining.
• Cross-Functional Communication.
• Fluent in German and English.

The position is assigned to grade I according to the Elli function grading.
