Senior Business Development Manager (w/m/d)

We are seeking to hire a Senior Business Development Manager (m/f/d) to implement new business processes and new products for Alpiq's business in Northwest Europe as soon as possible. From our offices in Finland, Norway and Germany, we provide origination products and services for the Northwest European region. Our service portfolio includes: PPAs, long-term deliveries, flow deals, balancing payments and other structured origination products.
Our goal is to provide best-in-class services to renewable energy producers, large industrial consumers, portfolio managers and retailers in the Northwest European market.

Your main responsibilities

  • Commercial analysis of new and existing products in the area of flexibility of renewable energy sources, including PPA, direct marketing (wind and solar), green fuels, etc.
  • Monitoring regulatory changes for the Northwest Europe product portfolio and the associated contract and product optimisations
  • Development, implementation and optimisation of existing or new processes in areas such as back office, EDM and for relevant interfaces to trading or to our virtual power plant
  • Project management with internal departments such as energy data management, legal, IT,
  • back office and trading, as well as with external stakeholders
  • Establishing and developing partnerships and networks in the field of renewables
  • Analysing business opportunities, sparring partner for origination

Your profile

  • Degree with a focus on economics, IT or technology
  • Expertise in the business processes: market communication, balancing energy, energy data management
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the energy sector in a similar position
  • In-depth knowledge of the requirements of the balancing energy market in Germany
  • Ability to work cooperatively in an international team and enjoy developing partnerships
  • Business-minded, goal-oriented and highly self-motivated
  • Excellent organisational skills and structured way of working, ideally experience in project management
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
