THE ROLE AND THE TEAM
We are looking for a Senior Manager Country Tax (all genders) to support our Direct Tax Business Advisory team. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for any German tax advisory matters of the Zalando Group. We need you as a German tax expert who manages cross-border and local tax matters affecting Zalando’s businesses end-to-end from a corporate tax perspective. The role will initially focus on Germany, but may expand to other markets in the future as you grow within the team. The ideal candidate will have fluent German and English language skills, professional experience in German and international tax law and excellent stakeholder management abilities.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)You will be a part of an international team of tax experts
You will be responsible for advising the business on any German direct tax related matters and requirements as well as assessing the impact of business decisions on German tax positions of Zalando companies and will lead the respective projects
You will be involved in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, as well as tax audits/tax litigations
Within your scope you will be monitoring and analyzing national policy developments and changes in corporate tax and transfer pricing legislation
You will act as the point of contact for our stakeholders, external advisors and tax authorities
While your focus will be on Germany, you may also have other countries assigned to you which will also include ensuring fulfilment of direct tax compliance and reporting obligations of the respective foreign entities with the help of external advisors
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IFYou have gained a degree in taxation, law, economics, business administration or a comparable background. A German tax advisor certification (Steuerberater:in) would be an advantage
You have minimum 5 years of professional experience in both German and international tax law, ideally as in-house expert or within a tax advisory /auditing firm
You have knowledge of GSuite/MS Office and SAP and/or other analytical tools
Ideally you are interested in e-commerce, digitalization, technology, big data analytics and/or machine learning
You speak fluently German and English (other languages would be an advantage)
You are a hands on and detailed oriented team player looking for process improvements
