Software Architect – Software Tool Development (m/f/d)
We are currently looking for a Software Architect (m/f/d) at our location in Berlin Reinickendorf.
As a Software Architect at GEA Refrigeration Germany GmbH, you will be a vital part of our international team, dedicated to designing and developing top-tier digital solutions that are scalable, secure, and efficient. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding our transition from existing legacy systems to cutting-edge, modern architectures. This pivotal role requires a keen understanding of how to craft interfaces that communicate effectively between different systems and users (engineers, sales personnel, and other key stakeholders). You will play a pivotal role in advancing the technological framework of our company, ensuring high-performance solutions.
GEA Heating & Refrigeration Technologies is a leading global manufacturer of components for industrial heating and refrigeration technology and other systems, in particular compressors, units, liquid chillers and heat pumps. We offer high-quality technical solutions for the food and beverage, dairy processing, oil and gas, marine and other industries.
Responsibilities / Tasks
- Ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and performant.
- Lead the transformation of legacy software systems to modern solutions, employing best practices and cutting-edge technologies, including cloud services with a focus on MS Azure.
- Define and create the correct interfaces between systems, ensuring seamless integration and communication across various platforms.
- Collaborate with internal users from different departments and other stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into system requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, promoting the use of agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Develop technical roadmaps, architecture documents, and ensure adherence to design principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Identify and address system bottlenecks, ensuring high levels of performance and reliability.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the latest industry trends and advancements in technology to inform architectural decisions.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master in computer science or another course of study with a focus on information technology
- Preferably 5 years or more as full-stack developer you have accumulated extensive professional experience - Software Architecture Design and DevOps are your trade, in which you operate confidently
- Excellence in software architecture in a cloud environment (bonus for Azure Cloud)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Design Patterns & Architecture, Fundamentals of Data Modeling, Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Profound programming knowledge in a microservice environment with .NET (or Java), as well as web environment (JS/TS, HTML5, CSS)
- Reliable handling of current framework technologies, e.g., Angular as well as modern software development tools, e.g., Git, Docker, CI/CD and standard DB Types (SQL, NoSQL)
- Understanding of agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficient in English. German language skills are an advantage
